When I talk about spirituality, I do not speak of mother earth, the moon, or the universe. I speak of the infilling of the Holy Spirit, one part of the triune God of the Holy Bible, and the effects on my life. I say that not to be combative, but simply so that you understand my perspective.
In the world of 2022, declaring yourself a follower of Christ can make you a target for ridicule, hateful language, and sometimes violence. I understand why. The Christian church has plenty of unchristian like behavior in its history, and present day.
I am not here to defend the Christian church.
I am here to discuss how the Holy Spirit attempts to guide me as a follower of Christ. I hope to share my experiences, not preach or judge. My perspectives may be controversial. I pray they will not be offensive. That is not my desire.
My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Ps. 62:7
The calendar on the refrigerator says that spring will be here before long. We imagine the budding trees, and blooming tulips. Our minds long for the sunlight, and our bones for the warmth. We forget that spring is a time of transition. The reality is that there will still be cold, there will still be snow. It is true of life as well.
From day-to-day we often walk through our lives thinking only of the coming sunlight and warmth. Our marriage will last 75 years. Our children will be successful. We will travel in retirement. Then the unexpected cold and snow comes.
Sharing my life experiences may help you navigate the changing seasons of your life. Maybe you will learn from my mistakes or see another way of addressing an issue. Or maybe, just maybe, you will rejoice with me as we walk in the garden.
