The July 2008 issue of Two-Lane Livin’ Magazine was a BIG DEAL for me, with the addition of author and musician, Mack Samples. The revival of Mack’s column from the days of “The West Virginia Hillbilly,” a publication produced by Jim Comstock out of Richwood. The Hillbilly was known for many reasons, but most famous for the printing of an issue with ramp ink — which caused problems and rebuke from the United States Postal Service when subscriptions were sent through the mail. When Mack approached me about reviving his column with us, I was beyond humbled. I was brushing up against greatness, and marking my place in West Virginia publication history.
